Round 2 of National Basketball League begins with the Tassie Jack Jumpers taking on the Adelaide 36ers on Thursday night at MyState Bank Arena.

Tassie Jack Jumpers vs Adelaide 36ers (Thursday @ 7:30pm at MyState Bank Arena)

Tassie started their NBL franchise career to the best possible start with an 83-74 win against the Brisbane Bullets. Josh Adams was terrific in round one for Tassie with 20 points. The 36ers lost both of their opening round matches and we expect them to lose against the red-hot Jack Jumpers. They lost their second match of the season to Perth 85-73 they then lost to Illawarra at home 71-81

S.E Melbourne vs NZ Breakers (Friday @ 7:30pm at John Cain Arena)

S.E Melbourne should win the return fixture against NZ after winning in round one 89-65. Xavier Munford was unstoppable for the Phoenix with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists from 35 minutes of court time. Breakers captain Finn Delany was superb in round one with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Sydney Kings vs Illawarra Hawks (Saturday @ 5:30 pm at Qudos Bank Arena)

We expect the Sydney Kings to win this match after defeating Melbourne United on home soil in round one 79-74. Jaylen Adams was the best King’s player in the upset win with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Illawarra were equally impressive with an 81-71 win against the 36ers in Adelaide. Xavier Rathan-Mayes was on point from beyond the arc, shooting three from five to finish with 15 points.

Cairns Taipans vs Tasmania Jack Jumpers (Saturday @ 8:00pm at Cairns Convention Centre)

Cairns lost their opening match in convincing fashion to the Wildcats, 90-67. Taipans forward Kouat Noi (17 points) was impressive in defeat with five three pointers. The Tassie Jack Jumpers defeated the Bullets 83-in round one and will face the Adelaide 36ers two nights before their clash with the Taipans.

Melbourne United vs S.E Melbourne (Sunday @ 1:00pm at John Cain Arena)

The defending champions were defeated in round one by the Sydney Kings 79-74. Centre Jo Lual-Acuil played his heart out for United, finishing with 12 points, seven rebounds and two assists. S.E Melbourne were dominant in round one, defeating the NZ Breakers 89-65. Xavier Munford (27 points, five assists) forward Mitch Creek was on fire with 19 points. The Phoenix will face the Breakers in their return fixture on Friday night before traveling back home to face United.

Adelaide 36ers vs NZ Breakers (Sunday @ 3:00 pm at Adelaide Entertainment Centre)

The 36ers lost both of their opening round matches, however we predict they will defeat the Breakers at home. They lost the second match of the season to Perth 85-73 they then lost to Illawarra at home 71-81. The 36ers will face the Jack Jumpers to kick off round two on Thursday night.

Perth Wildcats vs Brisbane Bullets (Sunday @ 5:30pm at RAC Arena)

Perth won their two first round matches, defeating Adelaide 85-73 and Cairns 90-67. Victor Law was instrumental in their win against Adelaide, scoring 37 points and collecting four rebounds. Bryce Cotton was the Wildcats best player in their second round one match, scoring a game high 31 points, three rebounds and five assists. Brisbane lost their round one clash against Tassie 83-74. Bullets captain Nathan Sobey was outstanding in defeat with 24 points, six rebounds and three assists.
