Melbourne United clinched a win against the Brisbane Bullets in the early game of Thursday’s double header. United led at every break and were only down as much as 8 points during the tussle with the developing Bullets.
The game was played very much in the half-court with both teams scoring at least 50 points in the paint with Melbourne connecting on an astonishing 62% of shots inside. On a night where everything just went in they also hit 50% of their shots from the perimeter to put up 120 points, the highest points total of any team so far this season.
The rebounds were few and far between which lessened the impact of the Brisbane big men but Melbourne allowed Cook and Prather to both score over 20 points and they will not be super pleased with the 103 total that their opponents were able to put on them.
United had 12 turnovers in the game leading to 16 points for their opponents. Shea Ili is still on baby watch and could be a last minute out in this game.

Perth dug deep to get themselves out of trouble and across the line on Thursday in the second game of the night against Tasmania. The Wildcats were down by 4 points at the half thanks to an outrageous shooting performance from Milton Doyle who finished on 30 points on 52% shooting and 6-12 from three.
They were though able to steady the ship early in the 3rd quarter keeping their opponent to a single made free throw up until almost the 7th minute of the term. They erased the deficit and didn’t look back with 5 players shooting at least 50% from the floor including Krisitan Doolittle who topscored with 18 points to go with 12 boards and 2 assists.
Perth were right around their averages for the season in terms of shots taken and points but held their opponent to a significantly lower score than what they have been allowing so far this year. The 82 points scored by the JackJumpers was the lowest opposition total that Perth have had as we get closer to the midway point of the season.
Dylan Windler went 0-6 in 17 minutes on the floor with the commentators raising a question whether or not he was fit or under an injury cloud.
