Cairns proved that they will once again be a hard team to beat at home this season, downing the favoured Adelaide 36ers 101-97 in round 2, bouncing back from a tough round 1 performance where they got dusted by 27 against the Hawks.
Cairns have been struggling at point guard, however, Taran Armstrong is expected to return as the PG1 for the Taipans. Jackson Makoi will also be in the lineup after missing the first two rounds which will also help Cairns.
The question will be how will the Taipans gel with their new ins and will they get the most out of Rob Edwards who led the league with an average of 24 points in his two games without a starting point guard in the squad.

The Tasmania JackJumpers got the quickest of opportunities to avenge their 88-79 defeat by Melbourne United in round 1 by facing them on their home soil a little over a week later. The Ants didn’t make the same mistake twice, this time getting the victory 81-72 in their home opener.
The difference in the two games was the defence at the point for the JackJumpers, forcing the Melbourne Guards Matthew Dellevadova and Shai Ili to miss their shots with United as a team sinking 16% less from the field and 10% less from three.
Will Magnay avoided fould trouble early in the return match which lifted Tasmania immensely with United unable to control the big man who posted huge numbers; 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals and 5 blocks. A dream for any supercoach player out there.
