Milwaukee Bucks vs Phoenix Suns Live Stream & Tips

Eastern Conference champions the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Western Conference winners the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Championship Finals, with game no.1 taking place on Tuesday,  July 6. In the Eastern Conference Finals, Milwaukee defeated the Atlanta Hawks 4-2, while in the Western Conference Finals Phoenix eliminated the LA Clippers, also by 4-2. The Milwaukee Bucks only previous NBA Championship win happened way back in 1971, while the Phoenix Suns are chasing what would be their maiden NBA Championship.

The bookies have Phoenix as favorites to win both game no.1 and the NBA Championships. For what it’s worth, this writer began backing Phoenix to go all the way midway through the regular-season when few experts even had them on their short list of title contenders.

Milwaukee are also an excellent team, and finished third in the Eastern Conference with a 46-26 record.  With players like the hulking Giannis Antetokounmpo and the skillful Khris Middleton in their ranks, the Bucks are certainly capable of pushing Phoenix all the way during this best-of-seven match series. The Bucks are in the NBA finals on merit, and could yet emerge as NBA Champions.

Nevertheless, I’m backing the Phoenix Suns to go all out and stamp their authority on these finals by winning the opening match of the 2021 NBA Championships on Tuesday, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in a close game by a margin of 10 points or less.

  • Suns 12-4 in playoff games

Head to Head

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns have played each other 146 times in regular-season games, with Phoenix currently having a slight edge 75-71. As these two teams compete in separate conferences, their paths rarely cross, and they have only played each other six times in the past three seasons. Phoenix have a 5-1 edge in those matches.

Phoenix won both of the two matches they played against Milwaukee in 2021, although each was ridiculously close - the Suns winning by a solitary point each time, 125-124 in February, and 128-127 in April.

Milwaukee Bucks Form

The Milwaukee Bucks began their playoff campaign with an impressive performance in the Eastern Conference first round, routing the Miami Heat 4-0. The Bucks were then forced to go the distance in the EC Semifinals, eventually overcoming the Brooklyn Nets 4-3. In the Eastern Conference Finals, Milwaukee lost their opening game against the Atlanta Hawks by three points, 116-113. However they quickly regrouped, and inspired by their gigantic power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks stormed through the rest of the series 4-1.

Antetokounmpo was invariably Milwaukee’s top points’ scorer during the playoffs, and when he had an off night, the equally talented if slightly smaller Khris Middleton was ready to fill the void. Antetokounmpo missed the final matches of the Conference Finals with an injury, but hopefully the 6’11” 250 lb Greek Nigerian will be fit in time for Tuesday’s championship opener.

Phoenix Suns Form

The Phoenix Suns had the second best record during the NBA regular-season with 51 wins against 21 defeats for a 0.708 win percentage, figures only bettered by the Utah Jazz. Because of their lack playoff experience, there were concerns when the Suns were paired with the LA Lakers in the Western Conference First Round that they might be overawed by the occasion, and not play to their full potential.

When the Lakers took a 2-1 series lead, it looked like the naysayers were right, but Phoenix dug deep and hit back to win that series 4-2, then crushed the Denver Nuggets 4-0 in the WC Conference Semifinals. In the Western Conference Finals the Suns were just too strong for a determined but outgunned LA Clippers team, Phoenix winning the series and the Western Conference 4-2.

Throughout the playoffs (and the regular-season also), Phoenix have benefited massively from the points-scoring triumvirate of Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton. Booker averages 27.0 points per game, Paul averages 18.1 but leads the stats for assists and steals, while Ayton averages 16.2 points per game, and is also the Phoenix stat leader for rebounds and blocks.

Where can I watch a Milwaukee Bucks vs Phoenix Suns live stream?

Our live streaming calendar shows you where you can watch a Milwaukee Bucks vs Phoenix Suns live stream

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns have battled through the playoffs to be crowned Kings of the Eastern and Western Conferences respectively. Now all that’s left is for these two great teams to contest the 2021 NBA Championships themselves.
Phoenix have won the opening fixture in each of their three playoff series wins thus far, while Milwaukee had to come from behind twice, and actually trailed Brooklyn 0-2, before eventually winning that semifinal series 4-3.
Because of their habit of starting a series strongly, plus the overall depth of talent in their team, I’m backing the Phoenix Suns to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks in game no.1 of the 2021 NBA Championship Finals on Tuesday. Phoenix will win a close game by a margin of 10 points or less in a matchup that will feature around 210 points.
