The Eastern Conference Play-In will tip off Thursday morning Australian time with the Philadelphia 76ers expected to get on top of Miami and secure the 7th seed and a first round series against the Knicks.
The 76ers looked like one of the NBA’s better teams early this season but when Joel Embiid went down injured their fortunes changed dramatically. The start big man sat out 43 games in total this season and the team missed him plummeting down the standings in his absence. Since his return they have regained their momentum and are back on track to take a deep post-season run.
Miami have themselves struggled with injuries this season with both starters and roles players in and out of the rotation putting a strain on the coaching staff and roster depth. They were able to secure a Play-In spot again this year and if anyone remembers just 12 months ago, Play-In/Off Miami are something else. Jimmy Butler will be primed to pick this franchise up and put it on his shoulders but will be met by some staunch opposition in the 76ers.
My bet is that Philly will progress to take on the Knicks. The narrative is that the scores will be close for much of the match as it has been in all 4 regular season games this year but in the end will be a comfortable win for the 76ers.

Joel Embiid is the key here and if he is healthy and on the court the 76ers are the better team. Nick Nurse has a number of defensive weapons he can throw at Jimmy Butler and the Heat to stave off their attack but will first need to make sure his star player is up to the task.

Philadelphia are a much better team than 7th in the East and they will prove it with a win over the Heat. It will be a defensive battle and the scores will be close, i am backing the Under and for Tyrese Maxey to go Over his point total as he has in the last 3 games against Miami
