The 2024 MLB season is here, with arguably the most exciting baseball competition in the world championing all of the action we have come to expect from the tournament.

With 2024's iteration of the MLB already well underway, bookmaker bet365 have made the LA Dodgers the favourites to triumph in the World Series at $4.50, but are they the side to back?

The LA Dodgers are the current favourites in bet365's World Series winner betting market at $4.50. This comes on the back of a very strong start to the new campaign in which the Dodgers sit at the top of the National League West.

The Phillies, Yankees, Orioles and Braves are all available under $10.00 at this stage of the season. Last season's champions the Texas Rangers are also available among the favourites, but they are currently outside of $10.00, with the reigning champions currently $36.00.

In 2023, the Rangers were able to come through a tough set of series to lift the trophy. They beat the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0 in the Wild Card Series before then hammering the Baltimore Orioles 3-0 in the Division Series. They then edged past the Houston Astros 4-3 before stunning the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 in the World Series to lift the trophy.

This term, all outcomes are still on the table, with the competition already throwing up some big shocks and entertaining matches.

The Rangers will be desperate to defend their crown, but they are currently up against it to breach the top sides in the betting.

The Dodgers are looking to better their disappointing effort in 2023 after they were eliminated in the Division Series in a 3-0 loss to a Diamondbacks side that went on to lose in the World Series. After a strong start to the new season, they look like they will make a better fist at winning the World Series this year.
