Where they finish: 9th in the AFL in 2024

Prove us wrong, but the Bulldogs have had the top 4 expectation on them for a while now and have failed to deliver. The easy call is to say they make the eight, but the reality is the dogs like to sniff around the line and it will be a matter of if they end the year on the inside or the outside.

What’s to like

A team that has Aaron Naughton, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Tim English and Bailey Smith on the roster then there is going to be plenty to like about the Dogs. The potential to push way up into the eight is there with the personnel that they have, they just need to win the pressure moments.

The Bulldogs showed last season that they can be one of the best defensive teams in the AFL, conceding an average of just 76.78 points per game which was good enough for the fifth least in the league. With a couple of their big stars like English and Ugle-Hagan off contract at the end of the year, we can expect them to have slightly more productive seasons in 2024.

What’s NOT to like

It has been the same old story for the Western Bulldogs the last couple of seasons failing to reach the expectations put on them at the beginning of the season.

The Bulldogs had the chance to make the eight last season but lost to cellar-dwellers West Coast in the second last round after getting beaten by Hawthorn the week before. The point here is has Luke Beveridge gotten everything out of the playing group already and why are their still questions hanging around if they can make the eight or not.
