Now in the top eight, the Bulldogs are looking to continue their march towards Finals against the in-form Geelong Cats, who are looking for five straight wins on Friday night.

The Dogs were too good for Melbourne last week but will need to be at their best to match it with Geelong, who are expecting their captain Joel Selwood back in the line-up.

They have beaten the Cats against the odds in previous seasons though, so they are certainly not a complete right off coming into this match at Metricon Stadium.

Western Bulldogs Form & Team News

The Bulldogs have finally found some much needed form. Even if it was only against Adelaide and Melbourne, all wins count the same on the ladder.

If they are going to keep their spot in the eight, this is the season where you cannot just beat the bottom half of the ladder. The Dogs are going to need to match it with the top sides and that is exactly where Geelong could be come the end of the season.

Marcus Bontempelli has been the key to defeating Geelong in recent times, having 27 touches, eight score involvements and a goal the last time the two teams met.

Geelong Form & Team News

Having won their last four games, including a win against St Kilda and Port Adelaide, the Cats are well on their way to proving a force in the Finals this season.

Geelong just did the job against Adelaide last week and, as reward, get their skipper Joel Selwood return to the side to strengthen things even more.

The Cats are in the top three sides this season, along with West Coast and probably Brisbane, and deservedly so after stringing together some super consistent form.

Western Bulldogs vs Geelong Head To Head

Geelong have won three of their last five clashes, but the Dogs took out their latest meeting in July last year when Bontempelli dominated the match.

They also caused an upset in 2018 when defeating the Cats by two points.

Based on the Cats' recent form, the Dogs may have some trouble beating them, but as said they are no strangers to causing an upset.

Western Bulldogs vs Geelong Betting Odds

The Dogs have been installed as the $2.50 outsiders while the Cats look a good bet at $1.54.

The line has been set for Geelong at -9.5.

Western Bulldogs vs Geelong Match Up

Geelong's Lachie Henderson will have the match up on in-form Western Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton, the young 20-year-old who kicked six goals last week.

Henderson seems to have rejuvenated his career this season, having been injury free and playing some real strong footy and rarely being beaten.

Naughton still has so much to learn but has all the talent in the world that could see him be one of the games strongest forwards in the next couple of seasons. Last week could very well have been his breakout game which would give him incredible confidence heading into this game.
