The Tigers got their first win of the season by pantsing Sydney two weeks ago and put in another good performance, at least in the first half, against the Saints but couldn’t finish the job. They now get a chance to build on that momentum and come away with 4 points for the second time this season.

West Coast almost did the same to the Swans as the Tigers did, but could not hang with Sydney in the second half. It was still their best performance of the year though and they will come into this game against Richmond with confidence.

Unfortunately for the Eagles their confidence will not be enough and the Tigers pressure and their ability to control the breakdowns like they did against the Saints, will eventually wear down the Eagles with the Tigers getting on top late.

This will be a tough contest to begin with but I am still backing Richmond to get on top and cover the line if not by a late flurry of fourth quarter goals. The tussle at the beginning of the match will control the tempo on the scoreboard and that is why we will see another Richmond game go under the game total.

West Coast are still chasing their first win of 2024 and look the least likely to get one in my opinion. The Eagles did put in their best performance of the season last week though, which are hopefully signs that they are iåon the improve and can compete at a higher level as the season goes forward.

West Coast gave the Swans their second scare in as many weeks after Sydney went down shockingly to Richmond the week before. The Eagles were tighter in their defence and forced Sydney into mistakes and turnovers. Unfortunately, the Eagles couldn’t keep the pace and died off 104-78 in the end.

Ryan Maric was cleared to play after a crushing tackle saw him take a trip to the hospital, eventually being cleared of a rib injury.

Luke Edwards was also cleared for hamstring tightness.

Richmond put in another big effort last week but couldn’t match the performance that saw them shock the Swan’s in round 3, losing to St. Kilda 67-60 in Gather round. The Tigers had the Saints on the ropes with a scorleine of 33-11 at halftime, but a poor third quarter saw their lead erased and St.Kilda had the muscle in the end to get the victory.

The return of Dustin Martin has been a success for Richmond with the veteran heavily involved through the middle and the class of his touches were the difference before the break. Tim Taranto has also been in fine touch averaging 25 disposals for the season.
