The Saints and the Swans headline Sunday footy with both teams currently on vastly different paths in 2020.

St Kilda is fresh off a terrific win against the top of the table Port Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval last week, whilst the Swans got back on the winner's list against the hapless Hawks after a few disappointing weeks.

Will the Saints continue their march towards finals action, or will the Swans cause an upset to keep their season alive?

St Kilda Form & Team News

St Kilda hasn't done much wrong since the season restart under new coach Brett Ratten and find themselves in a promising position to break their finals drought in 2020.

The Saints have won four of their past five games and are one of the in-form teams of the competition. Their best win of the season came last week against one of the Premiership favourites in Port Adelaide, so they come into this game with huge amounts of confidence.

Seb Ross and Dean Kent won’t be available for this match after suffering injuries last week, which might open the door for the likes of Jack Bytel and Jack Lonie to come into the side.

Sydney Form & Team News

Sydney got back on the winner's list last week against a struggling Hawthorn side with Tom Papley being the hero with four goals.

Apart from last week, the Swans have been performing badly. They had lost their previous four games and were struggling to score, averaging around five goals a game.

On the selection front, Dane Rampe isn’t certain to play after hurting his hand last week in what could be a cruel blow. Besides that, Will Hayward looks like coming back into the side to add some much-needed goal sense to the side.

St Kilda vs Sydney Head to Head

Sydney has been completely dominant over St Kilda in recent times, winning their last five games. We're anticipating this run comes to an end this weekend with the Swans in a middle of a hefty rebuild.

St Kilda vs Sydney Betting Odds

St Kilda has been installed as the short price favourites for this encounter at $1.40 with Sydney at the $2.95 quote.

The line has been set at -15.5 for the Saints.

St Kilda vs Sydney Match Up

Max King is one of the most promising young key forwards in the competition and he will prove to be a handful for the Sydney defence.

Dane Rampe will likely go to Tim Membrey which means King should get a favourable match up on one of Sydney’s weaker defenders.

If the Saints can get it in quick and put it in high to him, there isn’t a key defender in the competition that can outreach him, especially a 2nd or 3rd defender in any team.

St Kilda vs Sydney Key Stats

  • Dan Butler has kicked 2+ goals in six of St Kilda's last seven matches
  • Jade Gresham has kicked 1 goal in each of St Kilda's last four matches
  • The Saints have each of their last four night matches by a 1-39 point margin
