Fremantle play their second straight game at Adelaide Oval this weekend, taking on Port Power and are tipped to leave the South Australian capital with yet another loss.
Port Adelaide are currently enjoying a luxurious travel schedule with this match-up against Fremantle the 3rd game in a row at Adelaide Oval and the 4th in 5 games.
The Power are 3-1 on the season with two of those wins coming at home albeit against inferior opponents. They have been able to put on sizeable scores in their victories this year but were kept to only 89 points by the Dees back in round 3 signalling the difference in opposition strength.
Fremantle were caught up in controversy in their Gather Round game against Carlton with a tight and frantic finish washed away with a couple of free kicks in front of goal sealing the win for the Blues.
The team remained in Adelaide this week to reduce travel strains and have engaged the local community between training sessions. Sean Darcy has also joined the team in the hope of overcoming injury to return to the field.
The Dockers have for many years been a strong defensive outfit with major shortcomings up top. The defensive presence remains and while things are starting to change in the forward line there is still a way to go.

Port Adelaide have put up some big numbers in their 3 wins so far this year. In the one game where some pressure was applied they weren’t able to withstand and fell at the last hurdle.
They will no doubt take a heap of momentum into this game following the 69 point win over Essendon and if they can continue to be efficient in front of goal and gain the amount of forward entries they have had then they are going to be hard to stop.
Port will need to ensure they get out to a strong start against Fremantle. If they aren’t able to build a lead early then there is every chance that the pressure towards the end of the game will be too much to navigate.

Freo come into this game off the back of one of the best starts to a season for the franchise in a number of years.
Despite the loss last week they were in the game with a chance to win right down to the end. There is momentum and belief within the playing group and that will now be tested against a top tier opponent who can score.
Fremantle’s strength is their defensive pressure and the skill level when they move the ball. If they are able to convert their chances more regularly then there is no doubt that they will take more wins. But it needs to be seen to be believed.
