The Bulldogs have made a statement by dropping three players. They will be looking to their stars to rejuvenate their game and keep their spot in the eight and I'm backing them to do so.

  • Western Bulldogs have won 7 matches this year.
  • Western Bulldogs have won 3 and lost 3 games at Marvel this season.
  • North Melbourne have lost 11 games straight.

Head to Head

Western Bulldogs have won eight of their past 10 meetings against North Melbourne Kangaroos, who won two games in 2018 and 2019.

In Round 5 in 2022, Western Bulldogs defeated North Melbourne 139-71. In round 16 in 2021 it was 108-79 to the Dogs.

North Melbourne Form

After a close tussle up to half time, GWS Giants overpowered North in the second half in Hobart.

The Kangaroos had lost Simpkin and Greenwood to concussion the week before, which left the Roos short of genuine onballers.

North Melbourne lost by six points the week prior to Essendon.

North Melbourne Team News

Jy Simpkin and Hugh Greenwood have been named, coming back from Concussion protocols. Simpkin will start in the 18.

Kayne Turner has also been included on the extended bench after some good form in the VFL.

Western Bulldogs Form

The Western Bulldogs have lost their past three games and two of those were at their home ground at Marvel Stadium against Port Adelaide and Geelong.

Both of those teams won by a margin of 22 points.

Their loss in Darwin to the Gold Coast, could be one they rue, later in the year.

Verdict

Western Bulldogs will be desperate to stay in the top 8, and should be too good. The Bulldogs to win by under 39 points looks the best bet.
