North Melbourne take on West Coast at Metricon Stadium to kick off the last round of the season.

North are still in contention for the wooden spoon, and need to hold onto their percentage even in defeat, while West Coast are in search of a big win to give them hope of a top four finish.

West Coast have not played their best footy in Queensland, but could be back in their home state come the end of this round.

North Melbourne Form & Team News

Beaten by 10 goals against Fremantle last week, the Roos are now in contention to finish bottom of the ladder after Adelaide won their last three matches.

The Kangaroos are playing poor footy and their list is below par, and the focus is now on a strong draft pick at the end of the season.

If they can prove competitive against West Coast, North may be able to hold on to second last spot on the ladder - particularly with playing at Metricon in their favour.

West Coast Form & Team News

West Coast are bidding for a top four spot on the ladder, and it could still be possible if they can walk away from this match with a big win.

The Eagles' win last week against St Kilda was ultra impressive, toughing it out when it looked as if all hope was lost half-way through the last quarter.

They played that match without Dom Sheed, Elliot Yeo and Luke Shuey as well as most of it without Jeremy McGovern, who suffered a hamstring injury early in the match.

The Eagles are in the zone, but playing in Queensland they have been known to get a little shaky towards the end of their games.

North Melbourne vs West Coast Match Up

Ben McKay and Jack Darling will go head to head in a key contest.

McKay is still a young defender and has been in and out of the North Melbourne side his whole career, but seems to be locking himself down as a starter towards the end of the season.

Coming up against Darling is one of his biggest tests to date, but expect him to relish the opportunity to play on one of the league's most damaging forwards.

  • Jed Anderson has recorded 20+ disposals in his last six appearances at Metrcon Stadium
