North Melbourne Form & Team News

North Melbourne are currently in 17th position on the ladder although they have been rather competitve either side of their 54 point defeat to Richmond in Round 7.

Adelaide Form & Team News

Adelaide are winless from their eight matches in 2020 to date with depth being a clear problem for the Crows despite still having some good experienced players in their line-up.

Whilst they've been outclassed in their last two defeats, the effort has been there where they pushed both St Kilda and Essendon for large periods of them contests.

They make four changes this week with Bryce Gibbs, Jake Kelly, Riley Knight and Rory Atkins replacing Brad Crouch (injured), David Mackay (managed), Fischer McAsey (Managed) and Tom Doedee (injured)

North Melbourne vs Adelaide Match Up

Whilst the skills and overall depth on the list is questionable, Adelaide have played with good heart over their last two fixtures with Essendon having to pull out plenty to hold them off last week.

They will fancy this as their best chance to win one to date against a Kangaroos team who are clearly missing ball magnet Ben Cunnington along with their captain in Jack Ziebell, which physically has exposed their midfield where they're now reliant on some younger and less experienced players to fill the void.

Despite having a few key outs, the balance of this Crows line-up has arguably improved with good users in Bryce Gibbs and Rory Atkins adding some much needed polish to this Adelaide team.

Against what appears to be a rather top-heavy North Melbourne defense, Adelaide will need to move the ball quicker with these inclusions and allow the smalls up front in Tyson Stengle and Lachlan Murphy to use their speed against the Kangaroos who don't appear to have logical match-ups for either of them slick forwards.

The midfield clash is mostly even on paper with Shaun Higgins maybe the class difference in the centre between these two sides, especially if Todd Goldstein can gain ascendancy in the ruck battle over a good competitor in Riley O'Brien.
