Brisbane on-baller and Brownlow Medal favourite Lachie Neale took to Twitter to apologse to fans on Sunday after his inaccurate afternoon cost one punter a $20,000 dividend.
Neale kicked 0.6 in the Lion's huge win over the Crows on Sunday, with one punter just needing one of those behinds to sail through for a major to collect the healthy five figure return.
“According to my Twitter feed, a fair few had me for a goal in their multi. Apologies, I owe you all a beer,” Neale wrote on Twitter.
More than 150 footy fans replied to Neale’s tweet, sharing stories of how his wayward kicking cost them big time, but none more so than the TikTok user 'Moth Fiend' who created a video about the doomed multi.
“Cheers Lachie, so close to $20,000,” accompanied the video below, which displayed in agonising detail just how close he came to securing a big pay day.
The video of the multi miss didn't take long went viral, with hundreds of fellow footy fans delivering words of sympathy.
“This is the most brutal thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Life awards him no points,” Christopher Kearney wrote on Facebook.
“Imagine you didn’t win $20k because the guy kicked 0 goals 6 behinds and he only needed one goal,” Matty Balla replied.
“This is absolutely extraordinary. I have no words,” Daniel Angelkovski wrote.
While a beer with Lachie Neale would be a great story to share for years to come, we suspect this punter won't be forgetting about the time he missed out on $20,000 any time soon.
