The Collingwood Magpies have dominated the first round of the AFL Draft as Jamarra Ugle-Hagan became the first Aboriginal player to be selected as the top draft pick since 1998.
Carrying the label of 'the next Buddy Franklin' for over 18 months, tall forward Ugle-Hagan was expected to be the first draft pick where he was snapped up by the Bulldogs.
After receiving immense criticism following the AFL Trade Period, Collingwood's list manager Ned Guy more than made amends with a terrific first round of trading.
Despite their bid for Lachlan Jones being matches in selection 16, Collingwood then scored a major win securing Oliver Henry at selection 17, a top ten player in many mock drafts.
In another major selection, Collingwood snapped up prolific ball winner Finlay Macrae and brother to All Australian Jack Macrae at pick 19.
Guy continued his terrific day by trading 2021 first-round pick to the GWS Giants for picks 24 and 30, as well as fourth-round pick in 2021.
