Hawthorn vs Brisbane Tips & Betting Preview

The Hawthorn and Brisbane game this Sunday at the MCG is a tough one to decipher for punters in what looks an evenly matched contest.

Brisbane were the big improvers of the the 2019 season with a massive rise from 15th in 2018 to finish second a year later in the home and away season. The Lions did fail to win a final but the jump of 13 places shouldn't be underestimated.

Hawthorn is one of the harder clubs in the competition to predict this season. They are a well-drilled outfit and have the 2018 Brownlow Medal Tom Mitchell returning to the fold after missing last season.

Hawthorn vs Brisbane Match Up

The lack of speed is the biggest knock on Hawthorn who have an otherwise well structured team with new recruit Jonathon Patton a strong target up front and he has a fine support act with Chad Wingard and Luke Breust around him along with Tim O'Brien who'll be better suited as the secondary tall

Brisbane have a plethora of good and young tall players at both ends of the ground with exciting forward Charlie Cameron coming off a breakout year in 2019 with 57 goals. Much of their midfield centers around Dayne Zorko and ball magnet Lachie Neale, however both are class acts and very consistent.

The Brisbane Lions have a clean bill of health heading into this clash whilst the Hawks will be sweating on the Saturday fitness test of Jack Gunston to determine if he lines up in Round 1.
