Gold Coast Suns vs Richmond Tigers Tips

Gold Coast Suns are on a bad run of form and have had to give him home advantage due to coronavirus restrictions.

The return of Tom Lynch against his former side can breath life into Richmond's misfiring season. Expect the Tigers to bounce back from last week's horror show by covering the line.

  • Gold Coast Suns have lost 6 of their last 7 matches.
  • Gold Coast have failed to score more than 63 points in 6 of their last 7 matches.
  • Gold Coast have failed to cover the line in their last 3 matches.
  • Richmond Tigers have won their last 6 matches against Gold Coast Suns.
  • Richmond Tigers are 6-1 this season against teams outside of the top 8.

Head to Head

Richmond Tigers have won the last six straight against Gold Coast Suns, who last won this clash in 2014. Overall the head to head record stands at 7-3 in the Tigers' favour.

Last season, Richmond won a low-scoring affair 53-32 at the Gabba.

Gold Coast Suns Form

Gold Coast Suns became only the second side to lose to North Melbourne this season as they went down 72-63 last weekend.

That was a third straight loss for Stuart Dew's side, who have also been beaten by Fremantle Dockers 76-49 and Port Adelaide 81-31 in recent weeks.

The Suns have been in freefall with one win in the last seven matches and now sit in 16th spot, three wins outside of the eight.

Gold Coast Suns Team News

Noah Anderson is out after suffering an arm injury last week and ruckman Zac Smith sits this one out due to concussion protocols.

Hugh Greenwood is also unavailable for the Suns due to personal reasons.

Co-captain David Swallow does come back into the side if passing concussion protocol tests and Sam Collins is also back at the heart of the Suns defence.

Chris Burgess is the other in.

Richmond Tigers Form

Richmond put up their worst performance for quite some time last week as they lost 62-22 to St Kilda on a night to forget.

The Tigers weren't at the races against a struggling Saints side, and only held onto their top 8 spot after other results went their way.

Damien Hardwick will expect a reaction following two straight losses. They were beaten 85-81 by West Coast Eagles in Perth before the bye.

Richmond Tigers Team News

Key forward Tom Lynch return from his knee injury to face his former club.

The Tigers have also received a major boost with David Astbury fit enough to return to the Richmond defence.

Patrick Naish, Jack Ross and Riley Collier-Dawkins all caught the eye in the VFL last weekend and are handed recalls.

But Richmond lose Dion Prestia, Kane Lambert, Noah Balta and Nathan Broad to injury.
