Two teams fresh off a disappointing defeats complete round eight of the 2020 AFL season as the Dockers host the Cats at Optus Stadium.

Geelong will be looking to atone following a below average performance against Collingwood while Fremantle will be hoping its fortunes turn around after a 10th straight Western Derby loss to the West Coast Eagles.

Fremantle crashed back down to earth with a five goal loss to the West Coast Eagles in last weekend's Western Derby. The Dockers were competitive up until the midway point of the second quarter, conceding four of the next five goals to kick themselves out of the contest.

Livewire forward Brandon Matera makes his way back into the side at the expense of Travis Coyler while former Tiger Reece Conca replaces the injured Stephen Hill.

Geelong put in one of its worst performances of the year against Collingwood last week, going down by 22 points. The Cats had no answers for powerful forward Jordan De Goey, who scored five goals in a match winning performance.

Geelong has six changes to the team that went down to Collingwood with Mitch Duncan, Tom Stewart and Charlie Constable the notable inclusions.

Fremantle vs Geelong Head to Head 

Geelong has a strong recent record against the Dockers, winning four of the last five matches between the sides.

One man the Dockers will have to do it without is injured captain Nat Fyfe, who secured 27 disposals and booted two goals in a match-winning performance the last time the teams met.

The Tomahawk was a lone hand up forward in a losing side the last time these teams met, booting three goals in a tight scoring game. Before that he kicked six goals in a triple figure Docker drubbing at GMHBA Stadium.
