The 2024 AFL season is in full swing, with everyone trying to predict which side will be minor premiers, which team will win the Grand Final and who will scoop the Brownlow Medal. Equally as intriguing as the three afore-mentioned markets is the Coleman Medal.

Awarded to the player that kicks the most goals across the home and away season, Charlie Curnow of the Carlton Blues is currently the favourite to secure the award once again at $1.36 with bet365

Charlie Curnow is currently at the head of the betting to win the Coleman Medal in 2024 after securing the award in both 2022 and 2023. His exploits for the Blues, in which he kicked 64 goals in 2022 and 78 the following year has seen him ear-marked as the player to beat at $1.36.

Curnow has managed to notch 56 goals in the opening part of the season, although Jesse Hogan and Ben King are right behind him at 53 and 46 goals respectively.

In the betting, Jesse Hogan ($3.50), Ben King ($26.00) and Harry McKay ($51.00) are the most likely winners. The next available choice is Josh Treacy at $81.00.

The betting for the Coleman Medal will likely change a lot across the season as players have good and bad games. The aim of the game is consistency, with one big game not usually enough to keep a player ahead in the betting if they are awful for a number of weeks after.

Staving off injury is also vital, with the players that seem to play every week and never pick up injuries usually a good prospect to back.

However, after securing two medals in as many years, Charlie Curnow is the player to back, and he will be incredibly tough to beat. Of course, playing with the weight of expectation on his shoulders will be tough, but he has managed to do it in the past two seasons, meaning he will back himself to do it again.

Which player do you think will secure the Coleman Medal in 2024? Can Charlie Curnow do it all over again, or will another player finally end his dominance at the top?
