Carlton looked to mount a big 4th quarter comeback against the undefeated competition leaders Geelong last round but fell flat at the final hurdle going down by just over 2 goals. The Blues had 66 Inside 50’s to the Cats 45 but failed to register enough majors to create the scoreboard pressure needed to win.
They also dominated the stoppages outdoing both their opponent and season averages for Hitouts, Centre Clearances and Stoppage Clearances. Carlton will need to continue in the same vein if they are to have enough quality ball to match it with Collingwood.
