Patrick Dangerfield looks set to claim his second Brownlow Medal.

Brownlow Medal Betting Preview

As the Brownlow Medal approaches and the home and away season is over, we need to analyse who will take home 'Charlie'.

A season dominated by Geelong, Brisbane, Richmond and West Coast should see players from these two teams poll highly while teams such as Fremantle and Carlton may have one to two outstanding players, but are not getting the wins on the board.

Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield currently heads the betting at BetEasy at $2.50 with Fremantle gun Nat Fyfe ($4.75), Brisbane's ball magnet Lachie Neale ($5) and Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli ($7.50).

Patty was never on my Brownlow radar half way through the season, where from round 12 onwards, he is expected to poll three votes five time, equalling 15 votes in the last half of the draw.

In my weekly post round updates, I spotted Dangerfield at the $6 quote, saying that if he can finish off this season with a couple of three votes, he may surpass the likes of Neale, Cripps and Fyfe.

The superstar midfielder is already a winner of the prestigious medal, back in 2016 where he was the clear standout player of the competition recording a record 35 votes.

Danger is expected to poll around the 26-28 vote mark this year and take home a second 'Charlie'.

Patrick Cripps - $12 via BetEasy

Yes, he plays in a bottom side, but based on individual performances alone, he can certainly take out the Brownlow this year.

He has had about three standout games where he is a certainty to poll the three votes, literally picking up his side to get them across the line in some close encounters. He is a tall midfielder, a ball magnet and so elite from 40m and beyond out from goal.

Cripps started off the season in flying form and will likely be leading the Brownlow come round six to eight. He will have polled consistently throughout the season but it is just a matter of whether the umpires vote on his own performance rather than the fact his team lost a lot more matches than they won, but at $12 that does look overs for a live chance.

Brownlow Value Bet: Patrick Cripps - $12 via BetEasy

I have already backed Dangerfield, but for those who have no had a bet I recommended backing him now before his odds shorten come closer to Brownlow night.

I will also be having a saver on Cripps as his quote should be around the $8 mark from his individual season alone.
