Sydney Swans vs Collingwood
On current form, the Pies look great value in early betting, but their recent record against Sydney, especially at the SCG, isn't the best, and given how bad the Swans were last week against Port Adelaide, the week they would have had behind closed doors, I'd be stunned if they didn't come out all guns blazing and with top spot on the table in jeopardy, I am tipping Sydney to bounce back and bounce back hard.
Best Bet: Swans Win ($1.42 EliteBet)
Brisbane Lions vs GWS Giants
I was thinking that Brisbane were due for a loss last week against a Saints team playing good footy, but dear me, Brisbane well and truly flexed their muscles, putting the game away before half time and are now #1 seed for the premiership. They are at home and yes, taking on an in form GWS team, but I will back in the Lions to continue their winning ways.
Best Bet: Lions Win ($1.27 bet365)
North Melbourne vs West Coast Eagles
This midfield of the Kangaroos is going to be special, and are just getting better with age and experience. Did what they had to do against Richmond last week to ensure they won't finish bottom and with their tail up, taking on a side who hate to travel, I do think this should be an easy afternoon for the Kangas and get another win on the board.
Best Bet: Kangaroos by 40+ ($5.00 PlayUp)
Fremantle Dockers vs Geelong Cats
Big game for both clubs with top four aspirations. The Dockers will rue the loss last week against the Bombers. They had the game won but couldn't quite finish the job when looking home and if they are to be a top team, they need to win those games, especially at the MCG. They return home and take on Geelong, who just got the win over the Crows last week in a thriller. I think the speed of Fremantle will be too much for the Cats.
Best Bet: Fremantle Win ($1.54 Picklebet)
Essendon Bombers vs Gold Coast Suns
Got Gold Coast right last week when they were short priced to beat West Coast at Optus Stadium. It's clear, for now, that they are a home team only. Yes, Essendon are on shaky ground, but credit to them for fighting back and beating Fremantle last week when looking gone at three quarter time. They are at home, season on the line, can't trust the Suns, Essendon should be winning.
Best Bet: Bombers Win ($1.52 Marantelli Bet)
Melbourne Demons vs Port Adelaide
I think you have to believe in the recent efforts of Port Adelaide. Super second half to get the better of Carlton before returning home and my goodness that performance against the Swans. Yes, Sydney were bad, but they were made to look bad, with an outstanding game plan to not allow the use of the corridor. Demons lose May to injury so the Power forward line could do some damage.
Best Bet: Power Win ($1.44 Marantelli Bet)
Carlton vs Hawthorn
Carlton favourites? What am I missing here? I don't think enough of the blowtorch has been put on the Blues and their last 6 weeks or so. They have been really poor IMO and were lucky to have a chance to win the game last week against Collingwood. It's Cripps and the rest for them at the moment. Hawthorn are flying and despite the narrow loss last week, I am sure they would have learned from that experience and confident they can bounce back.
Best Bet: Hawks Win ($1.91 EliteBet)
Richmond Tigers vs St Kilda
There is just nothing there at the moment for the Tigers but I can't dive into $1.25 for the Saints after their very ordinary efforts last week against Brisbane. They were never in the hunt and were really disappointing IMO after a couple of strong wins prior. I can't back either team with confidence, but I do think Richmond with the start could be the play.
Best Bet: Tigers +24.5 ($1.91 Picklebet)
Adelaide Crows vs Western Bulldogs
It has been an awfully frustrating season for Adelaide. Near enough but not good enough, with a host of games decided by 10 points or less. Just missed out on beating the Cats last week in a ripping game and are back at home. The Dogs are the form team of the competition and return to the Adelaide Oval, the scene of a Port Adelaide humiliation, which sparked their season. I am tipping the Bulldogs but I think it'll be a beauty.
Best Bet: Bulldogs Win ($1.42 Marantelli Bet)
