Geelong Cats take on Richmond Tigers in the 2020 AFL Grand Final at the Gabba in Brisbane rather than the MCG.

This final will be like no other before, being played away from Melbourne and with two Victorian sides contesting the big dance.

Geelong beat Brisbane to reach the Grand Final, while Richmond beat Port Adelaide in a thriller and will bid to retain their premiership flag.

Richmond Form & Team News

The Tigers are the form team heading into this match, not just based off their past five or six performances, but because of the dominant force they have proven to be over the last three years.

They have won two of the last three flags and will be looking to make that four on Saturday.

Richmond were beaten in their first final due to a lack of discipline against the Brisbane Lions, but straightened themselves up against St Kilda with a five goal win.

The Tigers were borderline giving away some silly free kicks last week against Port Adelaide, but they prevailed to make it through to the big one and will be on their best behaviour for this match.

Geelong Form & Team News

Geelong are a team with a sense of timing about them and are now a win away from the premiership.

They were beyond poor against Port Adelaide in their first final, before putting together arguably the strongest four quarters of footy that we have seen this season against the Pies in the semi-final.

They toyed with Brisbane in the second-half last week with Gary Ablett proving he still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

Patrick Dangerfield has said all throughout the year that this is his premiership season and, with Ablett retiring at the end of the match, could this be the send off that he deserves after such an impeccable career.

Richmond vs Geelong Match Up

The key match up for this game is between Patrick Dangerfield and Dustin Martin in the middle of the ground.

They are two champions of the game and both Brownlow medalists.

Dangerfield is so deserving of a premiership medal while you cannot take anything away from what Dusty has done in his two grand final wins in the last three years.

They will likely line up on each other to kick off the game which will be a spectacle to behold, and whoever ends up with the first clearance could well get their side off to the perfect start in this match.
